Phone will not turn on

Battery is drained

If the lights and phone are both on, but the keyboard is unresponsive or slow, reinstall the battery. If the problem persists, the sensor behind the keyboard may need to be cleaned or replaced.
Trackball does not Respond
Trackball does not respond when pressed or used to scroll.
Phone is not turned on
If the trackball does not respond and the lights around the keys are off, then your phone may not be on. If the phone is on but the lights are off, then your trackball may need to install a new trackball.
Phone does not respond to Trackball movement
If you press on or scroll with the trackball and the phone does not respond, remove the battery, wait for 30 seconds, reinstall the battery, and restart the phone. If the problem persists, scroll the trackball many times in random directions to remove dust or obstructions.
Trackball is dirty
If the trackball does not respond, the trackball may be dirty. Scroll the trackball in many times in random directions to remove any dust or obstructions and clean the trackball. If the problem persists, you may need to install a new trackball.
Trackball sensor has been damaged
The sensor for the trackball may be damaged. Clean the trackball. If the problem persists, you may need to install a new trackball.
Screen is frozen
Screen is frozen and does not respond.
BlackBerry OS (Operating System) is frozen
If the phone is powered on but the phone is unresponsive, you should first try to restart the phone. If the phone will not turn off using the power button, the OS is most likely frozen. Take out the battery from the back of the phone, let the phone sit for at least 30 seconds, and then reinstall the battery and try turning the phone on. If the phone is still frozen when it powers on, then the phone needs to be taken to your carriers nearest store for more details.
LCD screen is not on
If the screen of your phone is off, but you know your phone is powered on, you may need to install a new LCD screen.
Audio does not Work
Sound does not come from or go to the phone.
Sound is turned down or muted
Confirm that the sound is turned up to an audible level on the phone. The top button on the right side of the phone raises the volume.
If the problem occurs when you receive a text message, the phone may be on mute. Go to settings and make sure that text messages are set to a ringtone.
Cannot Hear Audio
If no sound comes from the speakers and the phone is not muted, the speakers may need to be replaced.
Other Person Cannot Hear Audio
If the person on the line cannot hear you and the phone is not muted, the microphones may need to be cleaned. If the problem persists, the you may need to install a new microphone.
