BLU Studio 7.0 II Troubleshooting

SIM card error / SIM card isn’t working
A notification displays informing you there is no SIM card plugged in, or the SIM card doesn’t fit in the slot.
There is no SIM card plugged in
Check to make sure there is a SIM card plugged in. Make sure you have a full-sized SIM card and it is plugged into the larger slot on the right, the one closest to the top of the phone.
The SIM card is not inserted properly
If there is a SIM card plugged in, it may not be seated properly. Remove it, ensure the contact (shiny metal part) is facing toward the back of the phone, and insert it again.
If you only have a micro-SIM or a nano-SIM card, you can use a SIM card adapter like this one.
Camera is unresponsive
You have trouble taking pictures, the screen is black, or you can't switch your camera to the front or back camera.
The camera can’t switch to the front or back cameras
If the camera switching icon doesn’t appear, close the camera app completely and re-open it. If the icon still doesn't appear, turn the Blu Studio 7.0 II off and back on again. If the problem persists, consider a factory reset of the phone. To do this, go to Settings > Personal section > Backup & reset > Factory data reset. Make certain your data is backed up before doing a factory data reset.
Background processes take too long to load
If you get an error message saying the rear-facing camera cannot connect or the screen is blank or black, try rebooting the Blu Studio 7.0 II by holding the power button until the power options menu displays. Select Reboot.
If the message persists, try installing a third-party camera app. If the camera works in the third-party app, the Blu Studio 7.0 II may need to be factory reset to get the default camera app to work.
If the rear-facing camera still cannot connect after the reboot or in the third-party app, it may need to be replaced.
The lens is cracked or broken
The camera lens will need to be replaced.
The microphone isn't working
When calling someone or using the OK Google voice search, the microphone doesn't hear you, or doesn't catch everything you say.
Others can't hear me, or I sound distorted
Reboot the phone by holding the power button and selecting the Reboot option from the power options menu. If the microphone still does not work, it may need to be replaced.
BLU Studio 7.0 II will not turn on
The battery dies quickly, will not hold a charge, or the device won’t turn on.
Attempt to charge the Blu Studio 7.0 II using another charger of the same type. If the phone charges, that means your charger is faulty. Consider purchasing a new one. If the Blu Studio 7.0 II still doesn't charge, the battery may need to be replaced.
Dead / quickly discharging battery
Standard Blu Studio 7.0 II batteries have a life cycle of approximately one year. If the battery is discharging at a significantly faster pace with average use, the battery may need to be replaced.
Apps are draining the battery
Navigate to Settings > Battery for a list of apps and the amount of battery they have used this charge cycle. Uninstall any apps that use more than 15% of the battery. Make sure not to uninstall basic device functions.
The charging port is dirty or damaged
If you see dirt or debris in the charging port, use a can of compressed air to squirt a quick burst of air into the USB port to clear it. Inspect the port again for any damage to the contact (the “tongue” that sticks out of the widest side of the port). If the contact is damaged, the USB port may need to be replaced.
The speakers aren't working properly
No sound comes from the speakers, the sound is distorted, or there is no sound when using certain apps.
Volume is off
Make certain the volume isn't turned down or off. If the volume is at an appropriate level and there is still no sound, reboot the phone. If this doesn't solve the issue, perform a factory reset of the phone. If there is still no sound from the speakers, they will need to be replaced.
Plug in your headphones to another device. If they still don’t work, they will need to be replaced.
Audio jack failure
Plug in a pair of headphones you know work into the audio jack. If there is still no sound or the sound is distorted, the audio jack will need to be replaced.
The sound doesn’t work with certain apps
If the sound works with some apps but not others, the software version of the Blu Studio 7.0 II may need to be updated. To check for an update, go to Settings > About > Wireless Update and click the Check for updates button at the bottom of the screen.
If you update and the sound still doesn't work with certain apps, or your system is currently up to date, those apps are not compatible with the Blu Studio 7.0 II.
There is no sound coming out of the speakers or the sound is distorted. Reboot the phone. If the sound is still distorted, perform a factory reset of the phone. If the problem persists, the speakers may need to be replaced.
The touchscreen isn’t working
The screen doesn't display anything when you turn it on, or it doesn't respond to taps.
Screen is dirty
Dirt and oil from your fingers can transfer to the screen and interfere with the sensitivity. Clean the screen with a damp cloth and then wipe it down with a dry one.
Screen is frozen / unresponsive
If your screen doesn't respond to taps, press the power button to turn the screen off and then on again. If the screen still doesn't respond, press and hold the power button and the volume up button to perform a soft reboot of the device. If the screen still doesn't respond after this soft reboot, you can attempt to perform a hard reboot of the device by removing the battery (guide coming soon).
The screen is broken
If your screen is cracked, it will need to be replaced.
If your screen has nothing apparent wrong with it but will not respond, reboot the phone. If the screen is still unresponsive, perform a factory data reset. If the issue persists, the motherboard could be faulty and will need to be replaced.
