Fire TV won't turn on
No matter what you do, you can't get your Fire TV to turn on.
White indicator light not on
Make sure that the power cord is plugged in correctly, and tightened all the way, to the back of the device.
Damaged power cord
If your Fire TV still won't turn on, you may simply have a damaged the power cord. Check for any wears or tears in the cord. If any damage was found in the power cord, it could be easily fixed by replacing the power cord.
No image on the screen
No image showing on the screen of your TV .
HDMI cable incorrectly connected
Make sure the HDMI cable is connected correctly, and no wears/tears are found on the cable. Keep in mind HDMI cable may also be loose when connected to the screen.
TV HDMI port inoperative
If you still have the same problem, try to unplug and wait for few seconds, then re-plug the HDMI cable. If the problem is still unsolved you may want to try to plug the HDMI cable to another port on your screen. You may want to try a different HDMI cable, if the problem was still unsolved.
Incorrect resolution chosen
Press Up and Rewind on the Fire TV remote together for five seconds. The device will cycle through the possible resolutions, from 1080p all the way down to 480p. If you see the correct resolution, select Use Current Resolution.
Amazon Fire TV HDMI port damaged or inoperative
If all the above troubleshooting steps did not resolve the issue, your HDMI port might be damaged and needs to be replaced.
Remote control is not working
Remote control doesn't work no matter what you click.
Faulty battery
Your remote may simply need new batteries. Replace the old AAA batteries for new ones.
Amazon Fire TV not responding
If the batteries are replaced and you still encounter the same issue, reset the device to rule out an actual device issue. Do this by unplugging the power cord from the Amazon Fire TV system and wait a few seconds before plugging it back in.
Remote control buttons panel damaged
Check the button panel of you remote control if its damaged, such problem may keep the remote control from functioning correctly. If this is the case then replace the button panel.
Remote control motherboard damaged
If you went through all the steps above, and your device still doesn't work you might encounter an issue with the motherboard, it will have to be checked and replaced.
No Internet connection when using wired connection
Internet will not connect when using a cable.
Ethernet cable is not connected correctly
Make sure the Ethernet cable is connected correctly, and no wears/tears are found on the cable. Keep in mind Ethernet cable may also be loose when connected to the Amazon Fire TV or Modem.
No internet connection by the router
If you still have the same problem, try to unplug router and wait for few seconds, then re-plug the Ethernet cable. If the problem is still unsolved you may want to try to check your router for internet access using a different device.
Amazon Fire TV Ethernet port damaged or inoperative
If all the above troubleshooting steps did not resolve the issue, your Ethernet port might be damaged and needs to be replaced.

Mine, too. Just stays dark. Can't reset from either killing power to the box or using remote.

Try disconnecting the power from the FireTV receiver, wait about five seconds or so, then plug it back in. The receiver should reboot and you should get your home screen on your TV. Now, if your remote refuses to work (pressing buttons does nothing), try this: make sure your remote is in line-of-sight to the receiver, open the remote's battery compartment, remove the batteries and put them back in. Now the receiver should detect the remote and the remote should start working.
