Those screws were definitely not T10 but T9 on my unit
Hi David !
thanks for putting your own feedback to the guide ! I’m glad that you found a way
I personnaly had to apply extra « force » on several parts but overall removing the glass was quite easy !
good luck with the fixing process
Vincent
Hi !
sorry for missing your comment !
i have no idea to be honest. This is a easy hack that worked fine for me since my bulbs are in an enclosure :)
hope you found something that worked for you !
You’re exactly the kind of person who is in the situation for which I posted this guide :) :) :)
fingers crossed for you !!
Just achieved this, swapping the built-in 4 Cores for a 2d hand E5-2690v2 3GHz 10 core, bought on eBay for 370€ (add 10% for $). Definitely worth the price : multi core geekbench increased from 10600 to 22400 !! Definitely don’t recommend the 2697 which is twice the price for only 10% more power above the 2690
Thanks for the guide !
Just a note : the 2 bottom screws were T8 on mine aswell.
I actually did :) my purpose was to demonstrate how easy it was to customise the mouse.
I think that you meant “this isn’t deep repair”. Indeed, it isn’t :)
Hey Ulrik ! Thank you very much ! :)
I already had an investigation about this. Looks like it is an "open" framework. But using it requires a given amount of extra dev, plus a potential advantage for players who have this mouse compared to the other ones, and that's why there are so few games supported... :/
I'm as sad as you. Was hoping to have LoL, Overwatch and so on supported but...
Hi @andned,
Never gave it a try as long as mine doesn't need it. It is a pretty expensive mouse so I wouldn't like to damage it.
The purpose of this guide was to demonstrate how easy customizing the mouse is easy.
Give us your feedback if you managed to do it :)
Is there a way to replace the Mac Pro Airport card with a more recent one, like when you insert a recent one in an old macbook pro to get new features such as "unlock my mac with my apple watch" ? This is an interesting question that remains unanswered (until now ?)
I would add this to the previous reply : what can you do with 768GB RAM that your 64/128GB mac can't handle ?
