[ about ]
Thank you for visiting my corner of the internet on the iFixit page. My name is Sue-Lyn and I’m currently 26 years old. I was born in Seoul, South Korea and was adopted at birth. I’ve lived in California almost my entire life until I went off to college in the Chicago-area of Illinois before moving back to California. I attended Olivet Nazarene University where I then received my Bachelor’s of Science degree in Art concentrating in Photography and a bit of graphic design. I’m a first generation graduate in my immediate family, and the last. I have five older siblings [ me being the youngest ].
I have been working here since November 29th, 2017 in Customer Service and about a year later, the baton was passed to me to become the Staff Photographer and more recently, taking care of putting together our employee business cards. As almost like a side-hustle: I handletter the chalkboards for events such as our holiday party. In Customer Service Land, I primarily focus on listening + empathizing with our customers [ through our US / Australia / and Canadian website ] and I try my best to do so. In addition, I assist in interviewing possible candidates for our department with our lead, Augie, before we have the group interview with the rest of our team.
[ dreams + things ]
Abandoned Church in Gary, IN
One of my dreams is to own a two-story building where the floor level consists of a workshop where everyone + anyone can come and learn how to do just about anything [ sewing, music, gardening, film photography, lino-cut, car maintenance, etc ] along with it having high ceilings to hang local artists work and have art shows for the community, and a tiny store in the corner. The second floor would be my apartment. I would prioritize employing those who have never had a job or life has been challenging for them and they want a fresh start. Another dream is simply to work with animals. I am currently in the process of becoming a volunteer at Pacific Wildlife Care, where I’ll assist in rescuing and taking care of [injured] animals from the wild. It’s going to be very soul-filling. Speaking of animals, here’s my post through Reddit of my two Siamese cats being crazy: *click here*. I truly believe that animals bring an unexplainable joy to humans.
In general, especially, after working here at iFixit – I hope to continue doing my part in helping our environment by planting flowers that help our bees, always carrying + using my reusable bottles for both my iced tea and water [thanks, hydroflask!] recycling [thank you, dad for doing that since day one], buying sustainable + fair trade things that I use on a daily basis, and simply just being a better human living on this Earth.
My turntable, but music is life—seriously.
Big Sur, CA
I always have a strong desire to travel [to get out + explore], even if it’s a day trip. Driving is my therapy along with listening to music [especially on an LP] and I bring this up because it correlates with my experience in repair: I remember driving down a busy highway in Illinois until I realized that my accelerator pedal extender was about to give out [Note: I am a little person hence why I have pedal extenders] and thankfully, I have the necessary tools to do the fixing once I found a safe place on the side of the road. I do enjoy tinkering and fixing things, I just don’t think I’ve had as many opportunities to do so as I would like. I’m hoping that will change though for the better.
My friend’s music wall because mine isn’t as cool yet.
[ etc ]
All in all, I enjoy watching foreign films, being a homebody, I love being the cool auntie of , I can’t wait to finish my right sleeve [I have four tattoos so far], playing video games, going on walks [just not on the beach because I hate sand], learning + exploring, writing, and being present.
we are given the privilege + responsibility of forging our own way, choosing our own story. sylvia plath speaks of choosing our destiny like plucking figs from a tree—endless in options and opportunity, waiting, and ready for the taking. weighted with the knowledge that choosing one fig may mean losing the rest—it’s a dilemma that can both be tantalizing and paralyzing.

"Why does my phone have colored lines running through it?"に関する回答Please provide us photos of the condition that the phone is currently in, especially if there is any damage to it due to the drop. That would be really helpful. Although, my instincts say that the LCD/Digitizer will need to be replaced.

"Adhesive for iPhone glass backing"に関する回答Hi Daniel, It does not appear that we have the Rear Panel Adhesive Assembly available on iFixit. However, you could probably use Tesa Tape as a wonderful alternative: *click*. I’m sure there will be other advice from others later on. :)
"iPhone boot loop after battery replacement?!"に関する回答Hi there! There are a couple of things that we could try. We want to make sure that the iPhone is being recognized in iTunes. "If the iPhone is recognized in iTunes, send me a screenshot of the device page in iTunes. If the iPhone is not recognized, try plugging the device into the wall charger again and leave it charging for 6 hours. Be sure to use a known, working, MFI charger." I recommend is trying a DFU Restore, and the instructions on how to do so can be found here: *click*. "DFU stands for Device Firmware Update, and because it reloads the software and the firmware, it’s an even deeper restore mode than the recovery mode Apple describes on their website. Be warned though that if you haven't upgraded your OS to the latest compatible version this will upgrade your device and it is not reversible once completed." Hope this is helpful, and best of luck!
"All of my photos have come out blank and have strange marks on them."に関する回答What you are seeing are chemical changes in the film by temperature or how it was stored, but it also appears to look as though the film was expired. Your camera should be fine though.
"moonroof wont close makes clicking sound reset didnt work"に関する回答It is possible that the sunroof motor has gone out. How do I know this? My 2014 Toyota Camry SE did the same exact thing before I bought it [and it has been fixed, today actually!]. I would see if you have any kind of warranty associated with this car, and if not, still take it in to get it repaired. With mine, it would intermittently work once I drove it for awhile and was in park. I’d try that to see if you can at least get it closed. Best of luck!
"forgotten password how to reset this"に関する回答Hi there! After doing some a light Google search, I was able to locate on Kurio’s Support page on how to complete a hard reset for the Kurio 7s. I’ve gone ahead and copied & pasted what they mention '''here''' on their support page on the Hard Reset. In order to reset to factory settings, please follow these instructions : "- Power off machine. - Hold down + first and then POWER for about 10 seconds, release both buttons once Kurio screen loads . - When you get the open Android picture, press + to enter menu, use - to move down to "wipe data / factory reset" and press POWER again to choose. - Next press - to choose "YES" and press POWER to start reset. - Check for yellow text Formatting /data, formatting cache, Data wipe complete. - Choose reboot system now and press POWER to complete process. NOTE: This will erase data from your Kurio's internal storage such as Accounts, System settings and Downloaded apps. But music, pictures, and other user data won't be erased. Check "Erase SD card" if you want to...
"My phone has a black screen and wont turn on"に関する回答Hi there! Is it recognizable in iTunes when you plug it in to your computer? If you haven’t already, I’d try performing a DFU Restore. A DFU restore will update the OS, and give us a clean slate to further troubleshoot the device. If that doesn’t help, I would then inspect the digitizer + LCD cables for damage as those are fragile. Definitely be careful if you do end up opening up the device. Once you’ve got it opened, cleaning the contacts gently with isopropyl alcohol/rubbing alcohol/surgical spirits [a q-tip or bristled brush will do the trick]. Otherwise, replacing the LCD screen + digitizer might be the next step. Hope this helps! Good luck!
"Film advance leverwill go all the way but dose not advance the film"に関する回答Hi Mason! I wonder if any of the troubleshooting that we have on our website here would be helpful to: Minolta X-370 Troubleshooting — maybe some things you haven’t tried yet or are willing to try again. Otherwise, would you mind providing a link to a series of photos or a video of the issue that is happening once you have inserted the film into the camera?
"Weird grey lines on starting screen, in system blue lines."に関する回答Hi there! I would suggest the following: (1) Disconnect/remove the display. (2) Inspect the display ribbon cables for any pinches or tears and inspect the connections and contacts on the logic board for any damaged pins. (3) Use a Q-tip dipped in Isopropyl/Rubbing Alcohol to clear out any debris in the connections and contacts. (4) Re-secure the display connections and reseat the display. (5) With the new screen installed, power off the device and let it sit untouched for at least 6 hours. If this doesn’t help, it is possible that some sort of damage did happen during the repair or pins on the connections on the display or it could simply be a bad display. Hope you are able to figure it out though!
