I had his happen twice to me. I put the phone back together and tested it and received the message the Touch ID doesn't work. I took it back apart, removed the shield for the Touch ID connector, disconnected it, then put it back together. Both times it worked. The cable for the Touch ID is very finicky and you need to make sure it's completely connected
I went to fix a friend's screen and cut the power cable. I replaced it with a used one and the volume doesn't work however the power button and silent button work. What might it be?
It could be the part itself is defective or you bent a ribbon cable while putting it together. I had a similar issue once. The LCD worked perfectly fine when I tested it before I popped the screen back on. When I popped the screen in it didn't work, when I popped the screen back out with the cables still connected it worked. I returned the screen and swapped it out with a new one and it worked fine.
TLDR: it's probably the replacement screen itself.
EMERGENCY!

I replaced a screen and there's a "ghost touch" issue. Did I do something wrong or is it a defective display?
