Most of what I know about phones, tablets, and other electronics, I learned using the trial by error technique and just overall experience with them. I did take 2 years of computer tech in high school, so I'm not just talking out of my ass when I help people on the answers forum or in other areas. Also in my free time over the past 8 years ( after work/days off/and winter layoffs ) I have been learning everything there is to know under the hood from a master mechanic with 40 years of experience. I may not know it all but I know more than the average tech at a dealership! If I am wrong about something....then correct me so that I may learn more! Let get to fixing some stuff!!!
PS: Android rules, iPhone drools!
Good to hear man!
**The usb charging port is also soldered
I'm sure you have figured out some solution by now (sorry I've been MIA for some time now) but if not just weld it back together. (Never use glue, adhesives, JB weld, ect.) Lots of practice first though, because you only get one shot if you're trying to fix a split midframe. I've had great success with it. This website should give you a good idea. http://info.craftechind.com/blog/put-dow...
Personally, I use a soldering iron with a wood burning tip. There are many different ways and techniques, just find the one that works for you!
