How tight does the cap on the coolant tank have to be?
I replaced the coolant reservoir tank . The cap snaps on ok but you can still turn it very easily. Not tight enough to make a tight seal? Still loosing a half tank of coolant every 2-3 days.

Usually you have to press it down with the heal for your hand and turn it to lock it place. Do not do it when the engine is hot.

@richwats I realize this is an old question and may not be of any relevance to the OP but may be somebody else will be looking for the fuel filter as well. The fuel filter is part of your fuel pump assembly
Here is how to get to the 2002 Toyota Camry Fuel Filter

OK... past frustrated on this one...
A good number of years ago, the blower fan that pushes air into the passenger compartment (for A/C and heat) stopped working when the 4-way switch (off, 1, 2, 3, 4) stopped working.
Please, understand, I'm not an idiot when it comes to cars, electrical, electronics, etc. Just that I don't know what it is to look for here.
10 years ago... I started with the obvious... the fuse/relay block in the engine bay. While there are icons for "Fan 1", 2, and 3, I've surmised that these are for the radiator cooling fans.
With speeds 1 and 2 not working, while 3 and 4 still do, I have to think it's a relay/fuse type thing, but with there being 2 distinct "channels" involved. Problem is, I can't determine how to find those "channels".
From what I've read, there's a fan-speed-control RESISTOR, but when it goes out, it seems the fan speed should simply go to "high" (speed 4) and none of the others. I've still got speed 3 working.
So, "relay" is the conclusion.
Or... is it?
The !#^&@* about all this is that I simply like "speed 1", 2 if it's like I've just gotten in the car and need to cool down quickly. But I'm stuck on 3 right now, and it's more air movement than I like, as well as the noise.
Anyone have any thoughts... preferably from experience?

@djtempo ,Chip, Blower motor resistor could be the problem when 1,2 do not work and level 3,4 do work. Also check the plug and wires for the resistor for loose/damage/burnt. The link below may help if you would like to test the resistor plug prior to changing the resistor. 2nd link shows how to replace resistor. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

It's a bit hard to remove the side covers, but with care it's possible. The way to put them back in place is mysterious! I tried for 2 hrs with no result....

On mine Air it is and easy slide off-on procedure. Just there is hidden a small button to press on the back of the cover, under the cloth, you wont see, but can be felt by finger...press and slide off the whole cover, sliding back is the opposite of removal. The cover is a part Nr: ZG04693, same for both sides, price cca 25 euro each.

my 1999 toyota camry speedometer and mileage not working, and my car movement is bad .

@uche4706 your car does not have a speedometer cable. Your Toyota's speedometer is controlled by a Speed Sensor (VSS)that is attached to the top of the bell housing. There is a spindle that matches up with the Flywheel, and there is an electronic pickup that detects how fast the Flywheel is spinning and Sends the signal to the Cluster. If the electronic pickup part of the Speed Sensor is not detecting how fast the Flywheel is spinning, your speedometer will not work. Now if your speedometer is not working, it could be the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) but also the cluster itself (which would be my first choice since a failed VSS or ECM would most likely trigger a "Service engine Light" OBD code) as well as the ECM. You do want to check on this. The instrument cluster comes out with 5 screws. The speedometer assembly comes out with 5 screws. Look under the odometer display for the speedo chip, and right next to it, is the ceramic resonator. You can try to bend the resonator over about 45 degrees. If that doesn’t fix it then buy a new speedometer assembly. If unsure you can always post some good images with your question which will allow us to see what you see. Use this guide iFixitでの質問に画像を追加する方法 for that. Not sure what you mean by the “car movement is bad”. So, we would need more information on that.

If the cable/terminals to the battery isn't long enough to reach the post, can I purchase an extension to make it longer ???

@linnyk did it fit before? There should be no reason to have a short battery cable. Make sure that you have the right battery and have it in the right orientation. Batteries are not all build the same. Sometimes the post are on the opposite ends, so make sure that the battery you have is indeed for your vehicle. If it is, try to turn it around and see if that fits.

The package tray needs to come out in order to replace the speaker covers or speakers.
1. Remove the 3 bolts attaching the deck to the frame
2. Remove the side panels that hold down the deck so you really have to take these off. They should just snap off.
3. Remove the high mounted stop light.
4. Either remove the back seats or try to fold the back seats down and see if that gives you enough room.
5. To remove the deck you first need to go in through your trunk and you'll see 4 white clips. Push these up with some pliers, then from the inside just tug it away. Be careful shimmying the tray out, since you do not want to break it.
6. Remove old speakers. They should be held down by 3 screws.

My 2000 toyota camry is wobbling when driving. It's really scary because there was noises coming from the front passenger tire area and now this wobbling like the car is off balance, plus my steering wheel is shaking and pulls to the left. What could it be?

@linda75783 there are a few possibilities. First check the tires and the rims. Take it to get those balanced if they are still decent. If not, replace your tires. Next would be suspension issues. Bad tie rods, balljoints and bad wheel bearings are all a possibility. Take a look under there and see if you can make out any obvious damage. I’d start with the wheels (tire/rim)

Having engine problems, where it knocks and overheats. Mechanic says it's a crankshaft. Trying to see what other size of engines I can swap it for to get it running asap.
Thank you for your help

@aprilmarie we need to at least know if it is a 4 cyl 2.2 liter 5sfe engine or a 6 cyl 3.0 liter 1mzfe. The importance here is that there are many engines that will fit from the block perspective but some swaps will require changing the heads (due to anti-knock sensors etc) and oil pump as well. So it may be a PITA to do it. You may be better off finding an engine that was meant for your model Camry.

Hi i have a 1997 toyota camry le 2.2 L
My battery died and i replaced with a reman battery from my job “ i work with battery starter and alternators” when i hooked cables up the car started cranking with no key in ignition. Disconnected and tried couple more times. Just curious got my volt meter and nothing. Baffeled i decided to reverse the meter and got 12.63 volts so the battery was completely drained and charged backwards ( ive seen it happen multiple times ) meaning the postive was actually negative and the negative was actually positive. I got new battery tested with volt meter put in car turned key and all it did was crank. Check and replaced cpl fuses got car starter and was able to make home with nothing working no lights heat or ac brake lights radio nothing. Replace 100 amp fuse and all accessories are working but now car will start then shut right back off even if i hold foot on pedal. Also the radio has a real bad high picth noise comeing from speakers with the key off. If i leave battery connected it will drain overnight. All fuses are good. Alternator is good.
Could the ecm be fried or shorted??
Hopefully someone can help me this is my only car and cannot afford to get another one so ive been walking and taking uber for the past 2 weeks.
Thanks

@jerbear1969 you have a lot going on with your Toyota. First rest assured that you cannot reverse the polarity of your battery with a wrong charge etc. Not possible based on the way ta battery is designed. You may have issues with the meter. So you replaced the battery and your car started but no power options until you replaced the fuse. Now the lights etc. work and your car starts but immediately stalls again. That does sound like a fuel issue but since you repalced the battery try to re-teach your computer. Se if this will work for your Camry
1. Pull your parking (emergency) brake. (Brake on) Add additional chocks to prevent your vehicle from moving
2. Start the engine and step on the gas steady around 800 RPM. (with your right foot)
3. After 15 minutes, do all these at the same time: Step on the brake pedal (with your left foot), put the transmission shifter in DRIVE (D) with the RPM steady at 800 RPM. !!!!MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR PARKING BRAKE AND CHOCKS APPLIED TO PREVENT YOUR VEHICLE FROM MOVING!!!
Do not let the idle fall below 800. Keep it at 800 RPM for around 15 minutes..
After this your idle should be back.
If that does not work then you will have to check the fuel supply. Check to make sure that your fuel pump is working and that you have pressure on your fuel lines. Get some throttle body cleaner and clean your throttle body and IAC valve.
