So you did it - your cracked your screen. And no screw in sight as usual

At first you should remove the SIM card tray.

With the tray removed you can move on to removing the cover.

Look for the line where the backcover is snapped to the chassis and use a thin metal spudger to get between the cover and the chassis.

The backcover is quite flexible and sturdy but be careful with the three buttons - use your nails if possible.

The cover should come off really easily but beware as the fingerprint sensor is still connected to the motherboard - do not rip it off.

Use a heat gun to soften the glue and poke gently until the sensor is loose.

Next thing to remove is the plastic cover which keeps the ribbon cables tight.

Unscrew seven phillips head screws and then use a spudger on one side to pry off the blue cover.

With this cover removed you can now unplug the battery as well as the display from the main board.

In Order to remove the battery which is of course held in place by adhesive you should use high amounts of rubbing alcohol.

Give it a good squirt, wait a little and then slowly try prying the battery out. Do not bend it, especially when fully charged. Pry - use more rubbing alcohol - pry - alcohol ... and repeat until it comes out unscathed.

The flat ribbon cables run underneath the battery. With all the alcohol used you should be able to tear off the right one with ease.

For the last step you will need the heat gun again. If your display is damaged anyway just soften up the glue by bursts of heat and pry off the screen.

If you want to keep the screen intact you'll need time and patience to do so.

After a while the whole screen should come off and the ribbon cable can be pushed through the rectangular hole to part chassis and screen.

Well done. You successfully disassembled all the neccessary parts for a screen replacement.

If you have new screen ready apply small amounts of display glue around the corner and reattach it to the chassis.

Before reassembling be sure the display fights snugly onto the chassis and use clothespins on each side to give it a little pressure. Remove surplus glue and reassemble in reversed order. Good luck!

Vielen Dank für die super Anleitung. Ich muß die Plastikabdeckung (Deckel mit den Linsen Schritt 3) tauschen. Der Linsenschutz für die Weitwinkelkamera ist gebrochen. Leider finde ich nirgenwo eine Möglichkeit, die Plastikabdeckung nachzubestellen. Weiss jemand, wo ich diese finden kann. Viele Grüße Stefan
Da das Gerät vorwiegend in Asien verkauft wurde, wahrscheinlich bei wish oder aliexpress? Ich finde allerdings nichts.
