はじめに

The Power/Volume button is hidden in the bottom case of the Motorola Moto Z2 Force so you will need to follow our prerequisite guides to remove the motherboard prior to taking it out. Use this repair guide if your power or volume button stop working.

  1. Place the phone on a flat surface with the screen facing up.

    • Pry open part of the screen by pulling the tool and the screen toward you.

    • You may be required to use a heating element, such as the iOpener, to heat and loosen the adhesive underneath before attempting to pry it open.

  2. Wedge the plastic opening tool between the gap created by separating the screen and body of the phone in the right hand corner to hold it open. Insert the nylon spudger into the lower left corner of the screen and pry the screen toward you. Continue to insert the plastic opening and spudger tools around the phone, and pry open the screen until it is fully separated from the device.

    • Insert the nylon spudger into the lower left corner of the screen and pry the screen toward you.

    • Continue to insert the plastic opening and spudger tools around the phone, and pry open the screen until it is fully separated from the device.

    • It is possible to pry the display assembly apart at this step. Be sure to get the prying instruments underneath both the LCD and screen layers of the display assembly to ensure this separation does not occur.

  8. Insert the flat end of the nylon spudger on the side of the rear facing camera closest to the battery. Pry up the camera by pushing down on the spudger until the camera pops up.

  9. Insert the flat end of the nylon spudger underneath the black lock. Unlock the ribbon cable by pulling up on the lock with the nylon spudger.

    • Separate the rear facing camera from the board by pulling gently towards the bottom of the phone.

  11. Using the spudger, lift up the bar on the ZIF connector that joins the ribbon cable to the control buttons.   13. Insert the flat end of the nylon spudger underneath the edge of the phone near the camera. Gently pry the motherboard from the phone until it is raised enough to put a finger between it and the phone. With your fingers, gently pry the rest of the motherboard up from the phone.
    • Insert the flat end of the nylon spudger underneath the edge of the phone near the camera.

    • Gently pry the motherboard from the phone until it is raised enough to put a finger between it and the phone.

    • With your fingers, gently pry the rest of the motherboard up from the phone.

    • When using your fingers to remove the motherboard completely, be extremely careful, as you can easily break the motherboard.

  14. Unscrew the three silver 1.7mm T4 screws from the inner rim of the case connecting the Power and Volume buttons. Remove the button board. Remove the button board.
    • Unscrew the three silver 1.7mm T4 screws from the inner rim of the case connecting the Power and Volume buttons.

    • Remove the button board.
