Basic Maintenance

First, locate the side panel on the far left side of your board.

Then, flip your board upside down.

Now, use your Phillips-head screwdriver to unscrew the two screws holding the bracket on.

Then flip your board over and do the same on the other side to remove the second bracket.

Now, locate the three screws at the bottom of the back panel and loosen them approximately two full turns.

Now flip your board over again so it is right-side-up.

Then, remove the seven screws holding the metal piece on with the same screwdriver. There is one screw to the far right of the piece that I could not fit into the photo.

Now, put your hand on the back of the board and lift up and away from the base of the console. Be careful of any wires!

Set the top panel next to the base to avoid wires getting tangled and broken.

You might notice that a lot of the components inside the lighting board look similar to those of a desktop computer. The power supply, hard drive, RAM, CPU, and cooling system are all in the base of the board.

If you have a compressed air can or blower, use that to clean the main components, especially around the CPU and heatsinks, as these can get clogged with dust and debris. If you don't have one of these tools, use a DRY paper towel or tissue to gently wipe down the components.

RAM is good to re-seat every so often, as it helps to maintain clean ports and fast memory speeds.

To remove the RAM, press down on the two clips on either side of the stick, then pull up on the RAM to remove it.

Once you remove it, you can take your air blower and gently blow off any dust on the connectors and memory cards.
