はじめに

To operate without power directly from the wall, a working battery is required. As batteries age sometimes their ability to hold a charge decreases and the battery must be replaced.

  1. A rubber flap covers one of the lower case screws, fold it away from the corner to reveal the screw. Remove the single 5.2 mm Phillips #1 screw.

  7. The speakers are located on the top facing side of the computer, next to where the screen connects to the base. Using a nylon spudger, carefully pry the top back panel off to reveal the speakers.

  12. Use the plastic opening tool to pry the keyboard from the base of the laptop. Use the plastic opening tool to pry the keyboard from the base of the laptop.

  13. Lift the keyboard  carefully, otherwise the ribbon connectors may tear or break Unlatch and disconnect each of the four ZIF connectors.

    • The keyboard is now fully disconnected and you are now free to lift the keyboard away from the computer.

  14. Pull the battery connector to the left, away from its socket, to disconnect it.

  15. Lift the display cable connector up off of its socket on the motherboard

    • Disconnect the wireless antenna cables from their sockets on the wireless card.

  18. Remove the final four 6.8 mm remaining screws using a Phillips screwdriver. The monitor is now free and can be lifted away from the laptop. The monitor is now free and can be lifted away from the laptop.

  19. Remove the two 5.4 mm screws using a Phillips screwdriver. Disconnect the pin connector that attaches the battery to the motherboard. Disconnect the pin connector that attaches the battery to the motherboard.
    • Remove the two 5.4 mm screws using a Phillips screwdriver.

    • Disconnect the pin connector that attaches the battery to the motherboard.

  20. The battery can now be lifted away from the laptop. The battery can now be lifted away from the laptop.

A few steps in this guide are in the wrong order. Could get confusing for and unexperienced technician. Steps 10 - 12 should be before step 6. Other than that this was a very good guide.

Good catch! This guide was made by combining a few other guides ( we call prerequisite guides) and they were combined in the wrong order. I went ahead and fixed it. Thanks for the feedback!

This guide skips a very important step, without which the laptop is unable to connect to wifi networks at any reasonable range. You must reconnect the two cables on the left side of the monitor to the wifi chip. These must be in the order of white toward the monitor, black away from the monitor. I have taken pictures I would be happy to share for this step. Please contact me so I can share these pictures to remedy this oversight

Still not added,! Also the removal of three tiny screws under the lip of the CD Bay is completely unnecessary and they are very very difficult to put back in.
