If you are experiencing poor braking performance or a noise when braking, then it make be time to replace the front brake pads and or rotors.
Follow this video tutorial by YouTuber NutzAboutBolts to complete the replacement yourself.
Depending on the Toyota Dealership Parts & Service Department; 3M Silicone Paste, 3M Copper Anti-Seize, Sil-Glyde or the Toyota caliper guide pin and anti-seize/squeal lubricant are recommended respectively.
Torque specs:
- 25 ft. lbs - Caliper sliding pin bolts
- 101 ft. lbs - Caliper mounting bracket bolts
- 25 ft. lbs - Brake line

101 ft lb is NOT correct. I've read its 67 ft lbs for the brake caliper bracket. 101 newton meters is probably what you're talking about. Not ft lbs!

@Brian M Do you have a reference to share? Looks like the gen 4's are spec'd to 79 ft lbs in the service repair guide. 2001 – 2009 models are 80-81 ft. lbs. 101 ft lbs is what the service manual states very clearly for the front for the gen 3's, unless a typo. Did you read? 42 ft lbs for the rear appears for all the gen 1 to gen 4's.
