Background and Identification
The Cruzer Glide is a USB flash drive manufactured by SanDisk. Since SanDisk is owned by Western Digital (WD), you might see the drive online sold by either company. The flash drive comes in a variety of capacities including 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB. If SanDisk updates the product in the future, they might sell larger versions than those listed here.
The Cruzer Glide has a retractable USB plug which you move in and out with a small tab on the device. Some versions of the flash drive support USB 3.0 transfer speeds (5 Gbit/s) while other versions only support USB 2.0 (480 Mbit/s). You can find out what speed your drive supports by looking on the back for the product name “Cruzer Glide” and the words “2.0” or “3.0” for each speed respectively.
This flash drive has a black plastic body that is shaped roughly like an oval. It has a red SanDisk logo near the retractable USB plug, and the tab that controls this plug is made from a small ring of red plastic. You can identify the flash drive by looking on the back for the product name as explained above or by finding the model number printed nearby. The model number for the Cruzer Glide is “SDCZ60…” with additional numbers (like 016G for the 16 GB model) at the end to indicate the capacity of the device.
