Background and Identification
Introduced in 2011, the HP Probook 4530s has a brushed aluminum exterior (more durable than the standard laptop), a wide rectangular frame that sits on rubber nubs , and a dark plastic screen. Its security measures include a fingerprint reader and face-recognition technology. Compared to the HP Elitebook 8460, the Probook 4530s lacks a rubber ring around the screen and a magnesium base, which was added for additional durability. But, with its wide-body design, the Probook 4530s has a large spill-resistant keyboard with black chiclet-style keys, complete with a number pad on the right hand side.
Designed by Hewlett-Packard (HP), the HP Probook 4530s is from a line of business notebooks, the HP Probooks. Marketed to business owners, the Probook series is more affordable than HP’s higher end Elitebook series.
The Probook 4530s is a part of the S-Series (standard series), which was later discontinued in 2012. The ‘s’ in the product name means shorter platform cycles of between 9 and 12 months. Thus, there is only a 12 month warranty from purchase.
