The Acer Chromebook Spin is a compact 13 inch laptop released in December of 2018. The laptop was praised for its long battery life and 360 degree hinge. Some other aspects that were received very well were its varying port selection which even included HDMI and even USI stylus support. There are no official numbers as to how many units have been sold or manufactured however this was a popular high end Chromebook. The device was primarily sold in the U.S and Canada although there was varying levels of availability across Europe, the Middle East, and Australia. The device was intended to be viewed as a luxury Chromebook and sold at $750.00 upon release. The device was targeted towards schools and professional business users with the money to afford the high price tag. The device did not stir up any major news although in tech circles it is regarded as a device which brought premium quality to ChromeOS because of the build quality and high performance upon release. Although the device is known to have some common issues no official recall was ever issued for this device. Among these common issues the device may face the most prominent are battery issues, display or hinge issues and problems with the motherboard. This device did not have a direct predecessor and instead replaced another line of premium Acer Chromebooks which began to become outdated. Eventually this model was replaced with the Acer Chromebook Spin 13 (CP713-2W series) in 2020 with the biggest difference being the performance which jumped by about 50 percent.

The Acer Chromebook Spin 13 CP 713-1WN-385L has a slim and rectangular body, with one Volume Control key, one MicroSD Card slot, one USB port, and one Battery Indicator on the right side. On the left side there are two USB Type-C ports, one HDMI port, and one Headset/Speaker jack. The two flip-and-fold 360-degree hinges attached to the touchscreen allow for the screen to bend backwards so that the keyboard acts like a stand. In the back, there is ventilation for the cooling fan between the hinges. In the front, located on the right side, there should be a stylus in which you need to press on to take out. Underneath the device there is a ventilation for the cooling fan, two speakers, and the model identification number on a sticker.
