i opened the top case to clean the top screen and once i put the components back in, the 3d slider wont stay off.
the console starts in the minimum 3d effect, even if the tab is at the very bottom of the physical slider. if you turn the slider to max then back to off, the effect will turn off for a few seconds but then coming back to minimum 3d.
unsure as to what could be causing this, does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Hi!
You need to open it up again and make sure that the slider is inserted correctly. Make sure that nothing is blocked and that the black tab is indeed correctly inserted in the slider.
If possible, please share some pictures with us.
If this is the case, you might need to replace it completely to get it fixed again.
This is most likely a hardware fault.
