No Response from Power button; charging indicator lights up

Try a full power refresh in case the BIOS has been corrupted for whatever reason and check if that resolves the problem.

Disconnect the charger (if connected)

Open the laptop, disconnect the main battery cable from the motherboard and then disconnect and remove the coin cell cmos battery from the motherboard.

Here's the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop that will help. Go to p.54 (60 of 86 pdf) and p.62 (68 of 86 pdf) of the manual, to view the procedure to disconnect the main battery cable and to remove the cmos coin cell battery, respectively. You don't have to remove the main battery itself, just disconnect it

Note: Once the cmos coin cell battery is out, measure its voltage. If it is <2.5V DC or if the battery is >4-5 years old, replace it. If it needs replacing, search online for 5B10S34078 (or 5B10S34077) to find battery suppliers that suit you best.

Press and hold the laptop's power button for a full 30 seconds and then release it.

Reconnect and reinsert the cmos coin cell battery on the motherboard, reconnect the main battery cable, reassemble the laptop, reconnect the charger and check if it turns on OK etc.

If it does there may be a message stating that the date and time are incorrect. This is normal as the BIOS has been reset back to its factory default condition by the above procedure. Once the date and time have been corrected, the message won't appear the next time that the laptop is started. If there were any user definable BIOS settings changed by you to suit whatever operating requirements you needed, they will have to be changed back again also.
