After color conversion, my volume switch is non-responsive?

A few days ago I completed a color conversion on my white CDMA iPhone 4. I turned it on, and I thought everything had gone perfectly. However, this morning when I tried to put my phone on silent, I realized that when I switched the silent/volume switch down to silent, the little bell with the line through it did not show up on the screen. It’s not responsive at all. I’ve tried restarting the phone several times. Do you think that it’s just something that’s either a) damaged by the conversion or b) just slightly plugged in wrong and can totally be fixed. To be perfectly clear, the volume rocker still works (I can raise and lower the volume just fine), it's only the switch that takes the phone from ringer to silent that isn't working. The headphone jack works too.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!!

It is most likely that the cable isn't plugged in fully or you have pinched it. The cable runs to the volume, the silent switch, and the headphone jack. I have broken this cable on an iPad before 6 or 7 times because it is so fragile. it is the same with the iPhone so I would check to see if the cable is plugged in completely. If it is and still doesn't work then I would buy the cable and replace it. I keep on of these cables now for every iDevice because they weak with almost no force at all. You can buy the cabe here:

Hope this Helps

Is it normal that only the switch would be not working, though, if the whole cable was damaged? Or is it possible that just the part that works the switch broke?
