What's wrong with player indicators LED on the ps3 controller?
Hi, so I have a ps3 controller that doesn't indicate what player you are the red LED doesn't light up on the controller

Hi!
Just as teardown-er mentioned, it's probably the LED's it self, or there is corrosion somewhere that can cause this.
Please disassemble the controller and clean the whole motherboard with isopropyl alcohol (also the LED's) and check what is happening after this.
Otherwise, you could replace the LED's and see if that works.
If the issue persist, then it's most likely something on the motherboard that did die.
Can you let us know how cleaning worked?

You need the following LED's: 4 x 0603 or 0805 SMD LEDs

Hi, when I took the controller apart I noticed that two of LEDS where missing from the main board
Okay, in this case you need to solder new ones in. Do you have any soldering experience?

I mainly use the controller for ps3 and they dont light up when I charge the controller, but the controller works

If the light doesn't show when it is charging, your LED is probably burnt out. Are you familar with basic soldering? If so, it should be pretty easy to remove the case and PCB and solder on a new LED

Then I would replace the LED's and test to see if that works! But before doing this, please try to clean the board with isopropyl alcohol.
