In the Xbox menus (system, not game), my controller will always double input using the sticks or d-pad. I move one, it moves two with two separate sounds. It doesn’t do this to other controllers on the same console

Hi!
It’s recommended to open it up and clean both
Boards completely with isopropyl alchol.
Also clean the rubbers and the pads on the motherboard. If you have issues with the dpad,, there is a sticker on thr board with metal pieces. You can take it off and clean it under there, then put the sticker carefully on it again (make sure to align it correctly) if it’a failing, replace the sticker with a new one.

But if it were something like residue that can be fixed by cleaning, why would it only happen in System Menus, and not in game menus?
Sorry, I assumed that it happened in the menu and in the games it self. Is the Xbox firmware up to date? Are the controllers up to date as well? At this point it sound software related. Did you tried to test other controllers as well?

Sounds like might be a little dirty and it is getting stuck and re-sending the input, without taking the controller apart it is hard to diagnose. Might want to try spraying some contact cleaner directly into where the sticks are and moving them around might break up whatever could be in there.
