De-solder and swap the IC chips when replacing display?

Can I really just buy a replacement screen from ifixit and swap it out without needing to de-solder the two integrated circuits on the LCD control board of the A2442? Apple says they are "factory paired" to the logic board, and only Apple has the calibration software to swap these two ICs from the original broken screen to a new panel. Do we need to remove (desolder) those two chips from the old screen and add them to the new one?

Well... yes and No! Per what our guide states MacBook Pro 14インチ 2021 スクリーンの交換

You still loose TrueTone.

As far as I understand, iFixit—and most, if not all, other resellers—do not sell genuine Apple screens, but instead high-quality aftermarket replacements. If that’s correct, then the answer to this question is still “to be determined,” which does not inspire confidence.

@scottkenne61399 - iFixit sells Used screens as you can see here MacBook Pro 14" (2021 A2442) Display Assembly

These are from Apple McBook Pro's. For the sake of argument, if you bought a 3rd party or even one from the back door of the display maker (virgin) neither one would have the camera firmware installed so that would prevent the camera from working.

So you have your choice, going to Apple or even going to the Self Repair service Apple now offers, or locate a Used display and do it your self using the iFixit guide I've posted here.

If TrueTone is importantly to you, you'll need to go with the Apple suppled part.
