Why doesn't my audio work?

I'm not sure if the audio is bad on the computer or it's something else.

I have a brand new Inspiron 15 3520 (Purchased 12/2024). The only thing that I've done is open the system and disconnect the battery and replace the stock NVME with a Crucial 2TB NVME drive. I locked down the NVME, reconnected the battery and started her up.

My install appears to have gone fine, just a stock Win11 ISO (from MS), I went to the Dell site and downloaded all the drivers and I don't have any audio. I tried with Windows 10 Pro and got the same thing.

I checked the speaker connector on the motherboard and it seems fine. I disconnected and reconnect it with no difference.

Hey. I had this exact same issue... no sound at all. Not through the speakers, headphone jack or through bluetooth. I installed the " Cirrus High Definition Adio Driver" and got my sound back. Hope that helps you, too!!

@Bill Caster : could you tell us the version of Cirrus you installed ?

On Dell, they said to install 10.0.7.56 at least, but on another page, they said

to download 10.0.7.53.

Edit : I installed Cirrus by following the procedure on dell "Select your laptop model and serial number", then install specific driver, and in "Audio" install the Cirrus one. No need to set anything to install it. It worked like this ! ( 10.0.7.53.)
