What is the bare minimum an iPhone 12 Pro can run on?

I'll try to keep this quick and short.

I have an iPhone 12 Pro which is in the process of getting the back glass off, however this process has taken some time. I currently have all the components in a tray and will be putting it back together soon, but before I do, I wanted to know what was the bare minimum components I needed to get the phone to turn on. This is so that I can add components back in one by one, and be able to identify any faulty components. I would assume battery, charging port, motherboard and screen, but please advice me on this matter.

Thank you

Do you want it to be usable or literally just turn on?

I think the most critical components are going to be:

  1. Battery to provide power.
  2. Logic Board
  3. Display to see what's going on and run tests

Thanks for the response,

I just wanted to confirm that it would turn on an iPhone 12 Pro with only those components plugged in, as I have heard some people saying that iPhones only work with all the components such as Tapic Engine plugged in.

Thanks :)

and also the power button, no?

@oliveru You might be able to get by without the power button if you hook up the charging port, since most models will power up when you plug in a charger. So it's a toss-up; you'll need at least one of the two connected in order to get the phone to turn on.

There is one other consideration here in that without everything connected, the phone is going to reboot after three minutes due to not being able to read its sensors. Be aware that's going to happen and don't panic that there's something wrong; this will be the expected behavior until everything is reconnected.

@dadibrokeit this is an insane coincidence but my phone is having the exact same issue that it restarts after 3 minutes after i got it wet! ive been trying to fix my for a day now😪

@oliveru Hi Oliver. Please start a new question; there are better ways to figure out that three minute restart cycle than disassembling the phone and unplugging everything one at a time. The phone will actually tell you what's wrong if you know where to look. Here's the magic key you need to figure it out.
