Blown A1 V7A capacitor
I was working on my laptop (MBA 13" 2012 w/Core i7 2Ghz) yesterday and suddenly there was a loud pop, dead screen. Thought it was a blown capacitor. Opened the back and found it immediately, see pic. Does anyone know why this would have gone? It looks like a voltage regulator circuit and there are many of these all over the board. Could it have been static discharge? It is very dry where I live. Just want some peace of mind and edification on the potential cause. I think the cap has been ID'ed as a 62UF 11V 20% capacitor in a CASE-B2 package in another post, but not the same circuit. Thanks!
