when i put it on it goes through the mormal cycle of getting ready, however when i send a print to it instead of printing after sometime it indicates paper jam but on checking there is no paper jam at all

There are sensors which over time get messed up by paper dust.
Review the repair manual for your printer. You'll need to contact HP to get the HP Color Laserjet cp1215 cp1515 service manual as the online version appears to be gone!

i have the same problem, i change de paper, the problem was the paper was bigger than size letter, y change the paper for size letter and then work. At simple see i dont see the diferent, but the printer dont work with the big size.
