adhesive on the edge where the display cables are running

Hello,

during the opening of my Apple Watch 4 serie, I broke the adhesive on the edge where the display cables are running, cutting the two connections towards the two corners on the bottom of the case.

Question: which is the technical function of this adhesive? is it strictly necessary? Is it available as spare part?

Thank you

Regards,

Giancarlo

Hi

The screen connector adhesive you are on about that really only holds down some black tape to cover the connectors so I wouldn’t worry about that:-)

Hopefully this answers your question

If you need any help please ask

Thanks:-)

Hi,

thank you for the answer. I know the force touch. My question is regarding the adhesive very thin that is behind the display that keeps the three flat cables of the display glued together.

@gianko

That adhesive doesn’t serve much of a purpose other than covering up the connectors:-)

@hellomacos - Please becareful as some of your comments of late don't solve the underlying problem/s or deal with the ramification of incomplete information.

I would stick with areas I know intimately from experience, maybe even looking through older answers to see if the question was asked before and then pointing to that question and answer. I always try to supply data to back up what I've offered that helps people as well.

@gianko - The black copper tape is an EMI shield and you do need to be careful as you don't want it shorting out things. How about posting a picture or two so we can see things iFixitでの質問に画像を追加する方法
