Phone screen goes crazy after replacement

This guide was great. The replacment was straight forward. Now I have a issue with screen going crazy, Last night it started writing in some random code to open phone and almost blocked me out totally, some times it lags and then speeds up. Kinda goes crazy. I have to disable the tap to wake funstion, it was tuening on the flashlight all to time. Is it possible that this ifixit screen causes the iphone to go crazy, does anyone have any experience in this regard? Should I do a back up and reset the phone?

@billtonik The first thing I would do in a case like this, is to open the phone up again.
Then I would disconnect the battery (always starts by disconnecting the battery, as leaving the battery connected while disconnecting other cables can do serious damage).

Once the battery is disconnected, disconnect the replacement screen and inspect cables and connectors on both screen and logic board. If everything checks out and you can't see anything obvious (it can be hard to visually tell without a microscope), reconnect the replacement screen making absolutely sure that it's well connected and plugged in correctly.
Reconnect battery and turn the phone on (but don't close it up fully just yet). Inspect it's functionality and "stress test" it a bit to see if the problem persists.

I have experienced stuff like this when a connector was only partially connected, even though it appeared to be well seated.
In that case a tiny lint piece had blocked a pin on one connector, and that created havoc.

If the problem doesn't go away, it's possible the replacement is faulty.

I tried what you mentioned did the whole process but it did not fix the issue. To make it worse it is random. So I tested it without closing works fine at least so it seems, so I closed it and it did it again. It seems to be related to pressing the screen. If it is a faulty screen, what possibilities do I have?

@billtonik If the screen worked fine before closing the phone up, the screen is not likely faulty.

I would open it up and disconnet battery then screen. Then reconnect in reverse. I would test it out without closing the phone, and continue testing over a few hours. If it always works when the phone is not closed, it’s something that happened when you close the phone back up.

Could be pressure or something similar
