My touch screen stopped working after battery replacement

I did a DIY battery replacement and followed instructions carefully. I tested the screen by turning the phone off before closing up the phone everything went well. But when I sealed up the phone and turned it on something was wrong. My screen turned on and was visibly perfect and the battery was working. My buttons all work and respond but touch is gone. I can’t type in my password or open up my phone. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do?

So long as you're sure the digitizer's connector is attached properly, the odds are it's physically damaged.

What is a digitizer connected? Yes the things snapped properly, I redid it a few times to be sure. Do you think I should order a new screen? @krzeszny

@babylaven Digitizer's connector is seen in Step 21 here: iPhone 6s Plus LCDとデジタイザの交換

Before you order a new digitizer, make sure it's not a software error caused by disassembly or reassembly. I'm just guessing, as I've never had an iPhone. Or try finding answers on different websites. But I'm pretty sure the digitizer has indeed been damaged.

A workaround would be to use an external mouse (and maybe a keyboard) until you fix the smartphone.

@krzeszny I looked that up and I see that I should do the factory reset (power button and home button). I've done that and the screen still won't respond. I agree that the digitizer is most likely indeed messed up since the home button and screen light up. I have ordered a new one so I will see how that goes and update on that. Thank you so much for your responses!

Killua, one more thing you might check while waiting for your replacement screen is the pins on the digitizer connector, both the cable and the logic board. I had a similar situation that I couldn't figure out, and finally got out a magnifying glass and looked closely. Turns out I had bent a couple of pins in the motherboard connector in the process of seating the plug. Using a pair of fine tip tweezers I was able to straighten the pins, and viola!, it started working.

Edit: Also, pay special attention on the note on step 21 that @krzeszny mentioned regarding reconnecting the digitizer cable. I was guilty of that on my repair that resulted in the bent pins.
