How do I troubleshoot Boot Loop even with front camera flex replaced?
I opened an iPhone 7 to check for water after getting it wet. No water. Phone accidentally turned on while opening it (no big deal). Turned it off, closed it up and then phone went into Boot Loop when I tried turning it back on. (Had no idea what that was so researched it). Found something on this site that said try disconnecting front camera flex cable. That worked. So I ordered a new flex cable. I was VERY gentle in replacing it with the new one. Problem is STILL there with new flex. How do I fix this thing? Someone mentioned the flex cable that runs between the screen pieces? How do I narrow down what the exact issue is? The Home button gets deactivated when the Front Camera flex is disconnected also. I want my front camera and Touch ID back!! I don't want to waste money fixing things that aren't broke. I am buying an iPhone parts phone later today. TIA !!

try replacing the screen

@tech_ni thanks. But I’d really like to troubleshoot and know the exact issue instead of wasting money on more repairs willy nilly

Unplugged Home button. Reattached front camera flex. Phone booted up. Would like to narrow down the exact issue.

This is just weird, Kevin. My wife's 7 Plus had exactly the same problem and diagnosis, but in my case simply replacing the front camera / proximity sensor flex cable fixed it right up. Now that it's booting with the front camera still attached, can you reattach the home button and see if that does it? It seems like you're really close to a solution.
The only other thing I've heard is when I responded to another guy with the boot loop problem, another user chimed in and stated that in his experience a bad battery can also cause a boot loop. But the fact that it stopped rebooting when you unplugged the front camera should have eliminated the battery as a possibility.
Sorry, I know that's not much help, but it's all I got.

@dadibrokeit thank you for your thoughts. I had a parts phone lined up and went to pick it up and the screen was smashed (which was failed to mention in the ad). $30 for a functioning phone (iCloud locked). 😔
