Can this computer be completely upgraded? (I don't mean buy a new one)
First of all. I have already purchased a new computer. I am looking for a way to use the working components of this old laptop to make an updated useable laptop.
I have a “late 2008” Macbook Aluminum body. The screen is still working great. The trackpad and keyboard are working great. I need to replace the speakers and CD drive. A long time ago I put in a SSD which gave it several years of new life. But now it is just too old to run useful programs. In my naive mind I feel there should be a way to take out all the internal components and put in new hardware that will work with the current screen, keyboard, and trackpad. It breaks my heart to think that it will be useless and thrown out, I know that the “recycling programs” don’t actually effectively recycle all the valuable components.
Are there any other hopeful souls out there that have found a way to frankenstein their old Macbooks back to life?
Thanks
