Any one know the value of the C86 Capacitor

Block Image

It’s the cap on 11 clock from the led’s access point stopped working was a rat telling sound want when I opened it was missing. I tested it on a hood one with a multimeter I got 335-370uf and when I switched the leads 220-270uf but it doesn’t look like a electrolyte cap

Nukes1810 what device is the PCB out of? The capacitor looks like a Tantalum Polymer SMD component.

It’s fro a unifi UAP-AC-PRO I had a working one and I tested it using a multimeter and it showers 335-370uf and when the leads were swapped somewhere around 250-279uf. I know that can’t be the value of the actual cap

@Nukes1810

To really test it to know its value you would have to remove the good one from the board and test it "out of circuit" as there may be parallel circuit paths and backfeed paths around the capacitor on the board that would skew the reading.

Given the two different capacitance readings dependent on the meter's test lead position this appears to be what's happening.

Even then unless it is marked somehow you don't know the VW rating (working voltage) of the capacitor unless there are others close by that do have a value written on them so that you could presume that, that part of the circuit is operating at the same voltage. Selecting the correct capacitor with a VW rating that is too low will mean that it will be damaged as soon as power is applied to it e.g. 6.3V in lieu of 10V etc
