Brian Young check the answer by @jayeff on your other question. Do ti the same way. Jack one side up. Apply jack-stand and repeat on opposite side. Of course if you have access to a nice floor jack place it under the differential housing, place a piece of hardwood across the jack plate and lift it that way. Always secure with jack stands. Never work underneath any vehicle without those.

W123T chassis static (unloaded) ride height is determined by combination of coil spring length and rubber mount. Springs are color coded with red or blue stripe and specific combinations of spring and rubber mount determine net length. SLS spring struts (hydraulic adjusting elements) actively respond to level controller rod position, thereby maintaining correct vehicle attitude based on load (passengers, cargo, and baggage). Proper ride height adjustment with correct spring and rubber mount combination is mandatory, before adjusting SLS. Removing springs and rubber mounts must be done carefully using proper specialized tools (internal spring compressor to cite one), then measurements taken to assure factory specified dimensions. Procedures, dimensions and part numbers are listed in factory service manual, which should be considered mandatory for this depth of service maintenance. NOTE: a limited range of height compensation (sag) may be achieved by proper selection of taller rubber mount replacements for existing springs.
