Can't get a dial tone

Hi,

What is the model number of the phone if not a Uniden D1760? DECT 6.0 is just a standard for portable phones and even though they may be DECT 6.0 their user menus may be different, even if from the same manufacturer

What indication do you get when you call the Uniden’s phone number using another phone e.g. a mobile phone?

If the phone is connected to a telephone cable:

If you get a ringtone signal in the mobile phone but no ring from the Uniden phone:

Find where the phone's base station plugs into the telephone wall socket and unlpug the cord and then short out the two wires in the socket.

If the ringtone in the mobile phone stops then it proves that the telephone line connects to the house at least. There may be a problem with the cord to the base station, the base station or the phone. Is the phone registered with its base station?

If the ringtone in the mobile phone continues then there is a problem with the telephone line or the telephone exchange equipment. Contact your landline phone service provider.

If you get a busy signal and the phone’s base station has been unplugged from the wall socket then there is a problem with the telephone line or the telephone exchange equipment. Contact your landline phone service provider.

If the phone is connected to a modem and works over an internet connection:

Have you checked the telephone settings in the modem? Check your ISP website (or contact them) for the settings required.
