Overheating NAND in iPhone 7

I have an iPhone 7 which came to me looking like it was thrown against a brick wall but the board looked good. Power is coming in fine, but amperage is constantly rising to 480 milliamps and dropping, over and over. With freeze spray, I found that it's heating REALLY rapidly under the CPU where pins c65/c66/d66 are (pp1v8_sdram and pp1v1_sdram). Can someone throw me a bone? I've checked for shorts at every point that these pins are related to. Can someone help me get on track?

You need to determine if it is a power issue or a data issue. A close visual exam is also extremely important. You said it looked like it had been thrown against a wall.

·         The .48A is coming from your DCPS and not an amp meter?

·         Check all NAND power rails are producing the correct voltage.

·         Check all coils around CPU for cracks as this happens on the 7 series.

·         Try putting it in DFU mode.

·         Put some pressure on the CPU and prompt to boot.

These can turn into time consuming repairs but as I said you first need to determine if it is a data problem or power problem.

Have you attempted a battery replacement? Also, is the battery 3rd party or does it have low health?

Based on description, it's never about the battery.

The battery has been checked/swapped twice.
