1 Phone screen stays on for less than a second then turns off
My honor 8 started having screen issues today, but it feels like they are software more than hardware-based. When pressing the power/screenlock button the screen will flicker on for less than half a second (everything looks fine in this screen as far as I can tell) and then goes dark again. Pressing the lock button one more time doesn’t do anything, thus I guess this locks the screen again, but then after that further pressing the lock button repeats the above behavior.
I tried restarting the phone using the power button, power + volume up, power + volume down, power + both volume, but the result is always the same. Any ideas on what is happening here and what I could try to solve it? Should I just start looking for a new phone?
Hi Luca, I'm having this EXACT same problem. Did you ever figure this out?

Hi Ole, in my case it was due to the light sensor on the front of the phone breaking. I'm still using the same phone with automatic brightness disabled and just regulating it manually. The tricky part was turning automatic brightness off, as I had only a second or so before the screen went black :)
