Netbook won't POST after disassembly

The hinges on my laptop broke and the power switch kind of blocked when the lid was in a certain angle and also just moving the lid sometimes activated the power switch so I decided to disassemble the device, clean out the broken pieces of plastic, glue the hinges onto the lower part of the shell (could not screw them back in place, too much plastic was broken) and put it back together. Everything seemed to work out fine but now it does not boot any more: no screen light, no fans, no beeps, nothing.

I disassembled it again and removed some cables (screen, antenna, speaker, drive) but to no avail. I’m pretty hopeless at this point. But what did I do wrong? Could I have scratched to board that hard? Did I create a short circuit somehow? Can my greasy fingers ruin something? I was SO close to fixing this thing…

Well no screen suggests a power problem. Check the connection from battery to charger to motherboard? I guess something could actually be broken, but more likely just got shifted or disconnected during your activities.

Do you mean checking with a multimeter? I don't have such thing and I don't know how to do that. Maybe I should get some tools and education. Might be worth it.

@mender Try to disassemble your laptop again just to make sure everything is seated properly specially the ribbon cables that connect the LCD into the motherboard and do also check all other ribbon cable that is located inside your laptop. If all these will not work do also try to reseat the RAM, remove them all for couple of seconds then put them back in making sure that everything is seated properly into each slot.
