My MacBook Pro will not start even in safe mode

Hi,

My MacBook suddenly turned off. I couldn’t restart and saw that the power chord was frayed. Used another chord but when I pushed the start button, the green light would go off, no sound. Tried PRAM sequence and seem to start (gong) then turn off. Meanwhile, I had a CD which I needed to retrieve so I opened the back, took it out but in the process the subwoofer connector socket came off as I tried to unplug.

I removed the memory (both-same time), restarted with the PRAM sequence and heard the fan running, no gong, and a black screen.

Questions:

1. Can I diagnose with the plug issue?

2. Where do I start to look into the real issue?

Thanks for the help

Before trying to replace or even diagnose an issue with the magsafe connector, I would try doing an SMC reset by holding down Shift + Ctrl + Option and then pressing the power button for a second or two. This may fix the problem, but I can’t guarantee it.

nothing, no response or blinking lights...

One thing I forgot to mention is that I don't have a battery. It bulged and never replaced it.

reconnected the MagSafe connector, green light turned on and did the SMC reset but no response. Pressed the power button by itself and started got a blank screen for a second and then the computer shut off. Greenlight on the mag safe connector went off and hasn't come back up even though I plugged and unplugged it.

Having no battery requires a special start up method that you might have to try.

Here's the link to how to do it: http://osxdaily.com/2019/06/14/how-boot-...
