Broken iPad (Am I able to salvage the nand flash and cpu)

Please tell me there is some way to remove the nand flash and the paired cpu to put on a new logic board. Just enough functionality so I can get some photos back. I am willing to do/learn anything. The iPad has suffered some damage from being cracked and slightly bent.

Transferring a CPU/NAND combo to another logic board for data recovery, while possible, is THE MOST difficult micro-soldering repair to perform. Many experienced techs won’t even touch it. Not to mention that you need a functional secondary device (or logic board) in order to accomplish the data recovery.

So I’m afraid to say this is not something you can learn for doing a one-off repair. Your best bet is to find a shop that specializes in this kind of repair. If all a shop can point to is Tristar or iPhone 7 Audio IC repairs, then this is not the shop you need.

Thanks everyone, I feel hopeful. I also found some local shops who said they can do micro soldering jobs, but will cost an arm and a leg. So it’s not ideal for me to just gather info and the tools to try and diy this thing ?

@haimerej you would have more success trying to repair the damage on your iPad . All you are saying is that it “suffered some damage from being cracked and slightly bent” but forget to tell us where and how it is cracked and bent. Check and replace the parts that are cracked and bent, then re-evaluate. “I am willing to do/learn anything” is admirable but if you want to salvage your data etc. you can’t learn those incredibly difficult skills on your board.
