No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key

Hello there! So my acer netbook seemed to phase in and out between where it would boot normally and it would be in this state. This state is where on pressing the power button it greets me with this

I had just bought a new screen to replace my broken one on this poor netbook so I’m hoping that I could get this thing to boot so that I can use it again. Thanks!

Hey, i don't know how techie you are, but if it's not reading the ROM , simply thats a piece on the board, so either the hard drive is not connected fully, a connection isn't fully connected, or worst of all the board is “fried" (prob not)… unplug & eject everything & plug it all back in, check the little metal connector pieces, make sure nothings bent wrong, or got a hair or a fuzzy where it connects… when 8n doubt, “Google” your problem… check this page too:

The screen was replaced on this laptop which would indicate there is a high chance this laptop was dropped and the hard drive also got damaged.

I would buy a USB to SATA adapter if I have another computer available to plug the adapter to to see if the hard drive is still readable.

If not the hard drive will need to be replaced.

Ok so after reseating the hdd, using the wd-40 trick, and rebooting the same thing still happens. Also the bios is not showing a hdd at all

Also when I boot up the laptop it makes a continuous beep. I've looked multiple places but am unsure what that means

Stuck key, perhaps, causing beep?

If BIOS does not show HDD then it is not connected properly or is dead.

Could you test it in a friends computer?

Have you not got a bootable USB stick to test with?
