iPhone 8 no power, not charging

not showing anything, not even the “needs charge” icon after getting wet, then working for a bit. i opened up to dry it and blew it out, even under cables and such. then, it powered on, but home butting not working. then i powered off to reinstall sim card, now nothing, nada, zilch. what did i fry? what can i do? i am willing to attempt any repair and have experience.

Clean your logic board and other components with 99% isopropyl alcohol to clean up corrosion. Then try and power on. If not, something is either shorted or a component is damaged. This is pretty difficult to find the cause of your issue, but there is a technique called rosin smoke. You get some solder rosin and dip your soldering iron in the rosin to then cover the components with the smoke given off by the rosin. Then try to power on, which then the faulty component gets really hot cleaning itself from the smoke. Now the proper area in the logic board is hard to find, so you may just want to smoke the entire board. If it’s not a short this technique most likely won’t work, but worth a try.

Technique can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lq1zmfwt...

it is a different repair, but the technique is the same.
