Start button blinking after 2 minutes of cycle starting

Dishwasher starts on any cycle I choose. It fills up with water (cool to the touch) and begins cycle (arms spin). But, it stops after 2 minutes and the start button is left blinking. I press start/resume, and all the lights flash and then it goes back to the start button blinking. The cancel/drain button works. Not sure if it's a control panel thing, fuse, or washer motor. Any thoughts?

Hi @kawf ,

What is the make and model number of the dishwasher?

Does it have a hot water supply connection or a cold water supply connection?

If hot water is the water hot enough at the outlet to the dishwasher?

Some dishwasher manufacturers require that the hot water supply to the dishwasher be at 120 F degrees. Check the owner/installation manual for your dishwasher to see if this is a required condition.

It still may be a heater problem or perhaps a thermostat problem

Some dishwashers have a tech service sheet located behind the kick panel.

If there is one there for your dishwasher, it should show how to run the diagnostics program for the dishwasher which may help to narrow down what may be the problem.

Dishwashers don't actually fill with water. Just a small basin at the bottom fills up. There, heating elements heat the water to 130 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. ... The heating element at the bottom of the dishwasher heats the air inside to help the dishes dry. If this element is not working, it will shut down.
