iPhone 6s keeps restarting every 2 minutes after screen replacement

I have replaced the screen on my 6s and everything seemed to be working fine until about 2 minutes in it shuts off and automatically restarts. I can only use the phone for a max of 2-3 mins before it restarts again. I tried reconnecting the old screen and it still restarts every few minutes in between use. I'm not sure what can be wrong i was able to make a call and take pictures both front camera and back camera but it just keeps shorting out and restarting. Also the phone says it's charging but won't go past 5%. Please help! The phone worked perfectly fine before replacing the screen.

Have had this happen once or twice a year on my 6s with replacement screen. What works for me is to power down, disconnect the battery, and then hold the power button for a couple seconds with the battery disconnected. I read somewhere (that I cannot locate anymore) that this will erase some kind of battery memory setting or something (?), but really not sure what it does, except fix the restart loop issue.

Your power problem and restart problem are likely related. Your battery is probably bad (or going bad). The battery is telling the phone that there's enough power to boot and run the phone so the phone turns on, but then the battery fails (because it's mistaken about having enough power) and the phone shuts off. Then the cycle repeats.

Troubleshooting #1: Connect the phone to power, then turn the phone off. (Not just sleep; actually power it off.) Allow the phone to charge for an hour or two, then turn it on and see what happens. If the battery is charged and the phone no longer reboots, you're done. Otherwise...

Troubleshooting #2: Same as above, but try a different charging cable (one that is known-good and can successfully charge another phone). If the battery is charged and the phone no longer reboots, replace your cable. Otherwise...

Troubleshooting #3: Same as above, but try a different charging cable AND a different charger (known-good that can successfully charge another phone). If the battery is charged and the phone no longer reboots, replace your cable and charger. Otherwise...

Troubleshooting #4: Replace the battery, then repeat with Troubleshooting #1-#2-#3. If the new battery is charged and the phone no longer reboots, you're done. Otherwise...

Troubleshooting #5: You more than likely have motherboard damage, likely pry damage that happened when you were replacing the screen. This will likely require microsoldering skills to repair.

I’ve fixed this problem 3 separate times/phones. Trade SIMM chips with another phone; reboot; shut down. Then restart with the correct SIMM. Connect to power, leave on and come back to check several hours later ; a full 24 hrs would be nice. Don’t give up.

Good luck!
