Touch id not working after battery replacement

Hello, I have a strange situation, after battery replacement, my Touch ID is not working.

So what have I done?

I just disconnected my old battery and LCD, after that without any phone damaging I finished my job and turned it on and I got message that touch ID is not working.

OK - I have dissasembled my phone again, reconnected all connectors and turned the phone and voila - touch ID is working.

But thats not the end, after that I wanted to check again, is there isnt any problems inside. And what do you think, after that its not working again.

So whats the problem? I didnt damaged anything (I hope so) and it have worked once after battery replacement

It is possible that there is very slight damage to the Home Button Flex cable. If you have access to a magnifying glass or even better a jewelers loupe, take a really close look at the tiny flex cable that is attached to the Home Button. If it has even the slightest tear, that may explain the symptoms you see.

Same thing happened to me got a small tear on one conductor might have gone in to far with my pick. It can’t be changed as it’s paired to the iPad circuit board. It can be repaired using a thin wire but it’s a probably a professional repair

happened to me too i just put on the home screen button onto the screen go to accessibility then press Touch. then press Assistive touch. then you will have a home button on the screen. you can lock and unlock phone from it. then you can move it around the screen with your finger. hope it helps.

this was on an iphone 8 but you can put the home screen button on any phone i use it on my 11 too i find it easier.

I would clean the display connectors and inspect for damage. Also, check the display ribbon cables for damage. If you see no damage, try reconnecting with the cleaned connectors to see if that solves the problem. Make extra sure you properly seat the connectors - they can be tricky.

Hello guys, I was having the exact issue yeah, ive done quite a few things so I'll list all my attempts in the order I've done it so it might or possible to help you guys, any way step one I manually reset the phone by going into settings and erased all content and settings on the phone. When booted up had the same issue, step 2 I put the phone in dfu mode and attempted to restore using dfu mode and no success, step 3 If your already signed into your Apple ID please to sign out and connect your iphone to your computer power up itunes and simple restore your iphone, allow it to restore the software on the phone, when finish it will give option to restore or set up new. Just click cancel let the phone boot up. You guys don't need to try all attempts I suggest just turn off icloud connect phone to iTunes and restore the IOS on the iphone and when finish simply set up iphone as new, until your able to setup touch id do not restore your iphone using your computer.

YOU SAY....

1. just turn off icloud

2. connect phone to iTunes

3. restore the IOS on the iphone

4. when finish simply set up iphone as new.

BUT WHATS THIS MEAN?.... until your able to setup touch id do not restore your iphone using your computer?????

Im not sure if you fixed the touch ID issue by signing out of icloud and doing a RESTORE via iTunes. which must be done by connecting to a computer.
