Earpods don’t Click into Device

so you know how your apple earbuds usually click into a device when you plug it in, that way it will stay situated there? well my earbuds have been doing that, but today they stopped. when i plug it in all the way, they don’t click in and just fall out of the device. this also happens on my macbook air. much thank.
