Help! My LCD Screen Went Black. Replace LCD or Transfer Data tool?
Help! I was playing with my dog when my Samsung S6 G290v dropped out of my pocket. When I checked my phone, the screen had purple/blue splotches and the touch screen didn't work. Then after a few hours the screen went completely black.
I did some searching and it seems that the LCD screen and/or digitizer is broken and will need to be replaced. Bad news is a new LCD and Digitizer is more expensive than a new refurbished phone! And swapping the LCD screen is a tedious task.
I have a lot of photos, and notes on my phone (I am a writer) that I need to get. I figured I have three options:
- Replace the LCD screen and digitizer myself for $100-$130+
- Get a refurbished S6 for $90 and transfer the data via software/swap the motherboard
- Get all of the data from the phone via computer software and buy a new phone.
Can an expert help me?
Other Notes:
- When I plug in the USB cable it's in charging mode not file transfer mode, maybe someone knows a hack?
- I have no Pin/Lock Screen if that makes a difference.
