1 Replaced logic board but have unexpected shutdowns
Ok, so I purchased a replacement logic board for my MacBook Pro 11,3. Original MacBook Pro ran High Sierra.
Swapped the board, and rebooted... But it would not mount the internal partition, for some odd reason. So I had to reinstall the original OS (Mavericks) from scratch after reformatting the SSD.
I did a PRAM and SMC reset and reverted to using my 85 W original MacBook Pro Adapter. The battery is new (changed about a month ago from iFixit - also how I damaged the logic board while pulling on the iSight connector).
For some odd reason the computer now unexpectedly shuts down, without warning. I ran Apple test (everything was ok). But the shutdown never happens during OS installation, so I am a bit at a loss to understand what is wrong with this machine. Under Mavericks though, this does not seem to happen.
The machine goes directly to a black screen, but the backlighting still seems to work.
I am suspecting a faulty discrete board (which is not used by the installer, probably because it boots in a limited mode) and/or High Sierra reccurent but am at a loss to rule any other options.
Any suggestions?

Dan, ifixit didn't have the board in its 2,5 GHz / 16 Gb / Discrete Gfx so I bought it from a vendor in AL...

Epilogue:
I eventually returned this logic board to its original seller, as I could not even boot into recovery, nor boot into Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite or even Mavericks (the OS the computer originally shipped with) without encountering nasty shutdowns (sudden black screen with LCD backlight on -> fan on for like 10s -> shutdown). I could only boot in the OS that I had managed to install through various hacks and tweaks. Heck, I was not even sure how I had managed to get there in the first place.
I concluded that over the long run I might not even be able to upgrade MacOS with that board.
Though the seller said otherwise, I suspect they might have repaired /patched that board using chips harvested from another board since it passed all of the various OS X tests, but while basic test ran fine, conventional use triggered a severe kernel crash unless the extension listed above was disabled.
I was lucky enough to locate a shop in Italy who knew how to solder the iSight socket for half the price of the used board (250 € including shipping). They turned around that job in about 48h and I was able to boot normally.
So yes, beware if you buy logic board. Just make sure that they are not only tested, but that you can return them in case of incompatibility.
