Power adapter isn't connecting.
The power adapter port on my laptop isn't connecting. It will not charge.

Tamara Zeno when you say it is not connecting , do you mean physically not connecting or just not charging. You do want to go ahead and measure the output of your AC adapter and see what you are getting. If the AC adapter supplies proper voltage (DC 20V) you want to go ahead and disassemble it. Check the DC-in jack and make sure it is still properly connected etc. Post some images of what it looks like and how it connects with your question, that way we can see what you see. Thanks for your input. While I am pretty adept at software fixes, messing with hardware kinda scares me. I took it to a repair shop.
