My friend who makes a living fixing PCs at people's houses told me that if you replace the screen on an iPhone 6s+ the Touch ID won't work afterwards. Is there any truth to that?

rickcostel for as long as you transfer the original home button onto the new display your Touch ID will continue to function. Use this guide for the task.

Well as long as the home button isn't damaged (and transferred to replacement screen) and the home button extension cable bonded together with the iPhone 6s series screens aren't faulty touch ID will work fine.
