Why is my cord not retracting on its own?

I am trying to put my toaster away, but the cord will not retract on its own. I have tried manually putting the cord back in but it is not working. How do I get the cord to retract again, or at least figure out a way to manually do it?

Hey! It seems like there may be one of two things you can do:

Untwist your cord - you'll want to pull out the entire cord and make sure it's not twist anywhere
or replace the cord

Here are some instructions for solving both issues.

Thank you so much for your help @sydneyalcaraz ! My cord was only twisted and it was a very easy fix.
